Another day, another post 1.4.5 blog post! This time, we have a Survival update bringing plenty of functionality support for 1.4.5 additions as well as a handful of other miscellaneous changes. Check them out below!
1.4.5 Secret Seed Support!
The largest additions of 1.4.5 were hands down all the secret seeds as well as the way you can mix & match them alongside special seeds. So now that we’re moving along with our port of the server, we’re now able to host survivals with these seeds!
This also goes for our patrons! Private survivals can now be made with these seeds & hosted right on the server for your convenience to play with some of our gimmicks.
Smaller Additions!
It's Rewind Ti- wait, no it isn't...
Enchanted Sundials & Moondials are relatively useful furniture pieces, as you can skip to the next day or night.
So in the latest Survival update, these will now have a vote akin to moving NPCs or summoning Invasions! Just to make sure everyone is on the same page about it.
A Grave Mistake...
A little while ago, we had removed gravestones from catchup kits to tone down the clutter. However, this also came at the cost of graveyards no longer being a biome that can be made, ontop of a handful of other small issues!
As such, we have rectified this by allowing most Town NPCs to drop gravestones upon death! This acts as they do in Hardcore, besides the fact they drop as items.
Changelog
Seeds & Gimmicks
1.4.5 added a lot of seeds, so we now have the functionality to use them!
- You may have already noticed this with some of our early Survival hosts post 1.4.5 port.
- However, we also have the functionality to mix & match as well, & so does anyone hosting their own private survivals!
- This is done using
-specialseedswhen writing out the command.
- This is done using
- But, for those hosting private survivals we’d recommend making use of the commands on our Discord to do so, as you may hit the character limit in-game.
The following gimmicks have been consolidated under -worldmode!
-expertmode-mastermode- Basically,
-worldmode <difficulty>will allow players or staff to select the world difficulty betweenclassic(c),expert(e) &master(m) under one gimmick.
Additionally, the following gimmicks have been consolidated under -worldevil!
-corruption-crimson- Using
-worldevil <biome>will select betweencorruption(co) &crimson(cr) under one gimmick.
Specific gimmicks can now be updated in the current survival on a case by case basis!
- This is mostly for our Public Hosts, but it is functionality available to private survivals as well!
- This is also why we consolidated difficulties under one gimmick.
- These are the corresponding commands to this addition:
/survival add-gimmicks <game> [flags]/survival remove-gimmicks <game> [flags]/survival list-gimmicks [game]- Additionally, these will receive full documentation on a newer version of our support website coming soon!
- In the meantime, the following gimmicks can be applied / removed mid survival:
-worldmode-spawnrate-entropy-permabuffs-alwaysnight-1hp-itembans-bees-catchupitems-bossscale-nojungle-nodungeon-nounderworld-nodukebeforemechs-shareddeath
Miscellaneous
Most NPCs can now drop Tombstones upon death!
- Basically, this is due to us removing them from progression kits due to bloating a player’s inventory.
- The NPCs that drop Tombstones is the same as those when playing Hardcore in regular worlds! Which you can find the exceptions to that here.
- Additionally, they also drop as items to not interfere with protected regions!
Also, Enchanted Sundials & Moondials are now usable with a vote!
- Basically this is a change akin to moving NPCs or summoning Invasions.
- Once a player uses a Sundial or Moondial, it will prompt a vote to skip time.
Additionally, the following items can now be used by players!
- Potion of Return
- Rod of Discord
- Rod of Harmony
- Hook of Dissonance
- Peddler’s Satchel
- Pet Licenses
- Advanced Combat Techniques
- Basically, these items had permissions not given to players for the longest period, so you can now teleport around or welcome town pets with open arms!
Finally, favouriting items now functions in Survival & will apply even after rejoining the gamemode!
What's Next?
That changelog wraps up this Survival update, but now that we’re past the 1.4.5 port, what’s next?
Basically everything we have documented to code into the gamemode by this point has been added, but that doesn’t mean there isn’t work to do! Now that we’re past the update, we hope to work on the following throughout the year:
- Update catchup kits: There is plenty of items to shift around & new items to add. In particular for some of our item ban gimmick kits.
- New spawn houses: Lets be real, the current box house is quite dated. So we’ve been working on a variety of new spawn houses for the gamemode, some will only apply in special seeds! Not quite there for completion yet, but progress is coming along!
- Possibly adding new gimmicks: This one is far from set in stone, as we don’t have many currently documented to add. However if you have an idea that you think is a good addition, join our Discord & leave a suggestion!
Anywho, that’s all for this Survival update post, we’ll see you in the next one!
