Hello! It has been about a year since our last collaboration with the official Terraria Discord server, so we thought it is about time to run it back! So we’re running another Parkour Speedrunning contest!

This contest starts on August 8th and runs until August 18th, so you have around 10 days to perfect your times!

To the Penguin Games players: We know you guys have the advantage. For that, we have two separate brackets in this Parkour Speedrunning Contest to ensure everyone has a chance at getting a place no matter the skill level.

This speedrun contest is split into two brackets:

  • Beginner: For those new to Parkour. You will be running lilac.
  • Experienced: For those not new to Parkour. You will be running rainforest.

However, do note: You can only participate in one bracket! You are free to switch brackets for any reason, but the event team(s) will only prioritise your latest attempt for the relevant bracket. Finally, leaderboards for this speedrun contest will not be public until the event is over, to avoid confusion.

How to Enter!

Those new to Penguin Games can follow these steps to get speedrunning ASAP:

  1. Join Penguin Games: The IP is penguingames.fun and the port is 7777. Mobile and PC are supported.
  2. Create an account: /register <password>. Just so you know, you do not need to include the <> brackets – those indicate a mandatory argument in the command.
  3. Join Parkour: /join parkour.
  4. Play lilac or rainforest, depending on the bracket you are competiting in: /play lilac or /play rainforest.
  5. Record a run of you playing either map. You may practice as much as you need before doing your full run!
  6. To submit your run, send the link of the video to and specify that it is for this event.

To quickly restart your run use either the Soul of Fright in your hotbar, or the command /..

Rules

  • Runs are expected to uphold a standard of quality (i.e. no intentional submissions which do not primarily take speed into account, at least 20fps recording, no cropping of game display, video quality must be high enough to read in-game text, etc.)
  • The chat log (on the bottom left) should not have anything covering it. This includes transparent applications.
  • Please make sure you have the raw In-game music present in your footage
  • Raw (unedited) footage of the run is required. Segmented runs are not allowed.
  • You must have a permanent non-private video up (unlisted is fine) of your speedrun, but please note Twitch VODs expire after a certain amount of time, so if it’s from a stream please highlight it.
  • Using third-party tools that provide an advantage is not allowed.
