CTG: The Pre-League Changes

As CTGL2 approaches, here’s the last set of changes made to the game before the event begins! CTG Updates will resume as normal once the League is behind us, for now bring your attention to it & good luck to everyone playing!

Class Adjustments and Removals!

Most notable changes in this update impact Gladiator, Jungle Man, Black Mage & Fish players. Please read the changes below!

Gladiator

Gladiator was deemed too strong of a fighter, so it’s getting some general nerfs.

Movement speed has been slightly decreased, including using its ability. Gladiator’s defense has also been decreased back to 15, going back on our previous changes. As for the final nerf, the pickaxe has also had its damage lowered, as it was too powerful despite being just a tool. Shows to go that mining is OP.

To make up for all of these nerfs we’ve changed the prefix of the Trident, giving it 0.5 more range. More range, more impact.

Jungle Man... Killed Again

Sadly as we approached the League, we took another look at the state Jungle Man was in, and we have decided to disable the class, for now…. This means your favourite jungle warrior sadly won’t be playable within CTGL2 as well.

However, not all is bad here because Jungle Man’s power may return in the future! Or… we will replace Jungle Man with a new class entirely! Only time will tell…

Black Mage

Black Mage has received the smallest changes, however even small changes matter!

The ability cooldown was deemed too short so we’ve increased it by 15 whole seconds, but to compensate we have increased its ability uptime by 2 seconds.

After CTGL2, we may look at this class again for more tweaking but in the meantime, this is the Pre-League change!

Fish, still Fish

The changes for fish all tie to its SPEED. Gotta go fast.

Not only does it move faster, the crystal storm it wields has also had a velocity increase alongside its mana regeneration speed.

We hope this will help you swim your way around any CTG map going forward!

Map Removals

Jungle Man being removed is tragic enough, however we’ve also had some maps removed as well.

Shapes and Claws have both been taken out of rotation.

In the same case with Jungle Man, there is a chance they may return in the future, however they may also not. Only time will tell.

 
As another reminder, If you also have cool map ideas and want to fully envision, you can always get started with mapmaking on Penguin Games! Your map may be added in a future CTG update for everyone to play!

Patchnotes

Gladiator

  • Trident now has the Unreal prefix instead of Legendary. This increases its range by 0.5.
  • Speed decresaed overall.
  • Decreased defense back to 15 from 19.
  • Pickaxe damage decreased from 16 to 13.

Jungle Man

  • Removed Jungle Man, for now…

Fish

  • Crystal Storm now has the Hasty prefix instead of Rapid. This allows for improved accuracy and more versatility.
  • Speed increased with the addition of a Quick Aglet.
  • Increased mana regeneration.

Flame Bunny

  • Removed Flame Waker Boots due to lag.

Fungi

  • Swapped weapon from Wand of Frosting to Wand of Sparking for better visibility.

Mutant

  • Prefix on it’s Sunfury has been changed from Rapid to Hasty due to hitbox issues.

Designer

  • Removed Designer.
  • Removed Shapes.
  • Removed Claws.
  • Removed Umbrella events.
