Best Practices for Host Lobby

1 min read

Gameplay #

Unless incredibly obvious how the host map works, include signs that have instructions for the host and for the players.

Make your games fun, engaging, and creative!

Voting Boxes #

For large host games, create a 20×6 box for your game to be displayed for voting. You can build the box in a miscellaneous map file or include it in the top left corner of your submission.

Large Host Lobby game voting box

For microgames, create an 8×4 box for your game to be displayed for voting. You can build the box in a miscellaneous map file or include it in the top left corner of your submission.

Host Game Expansions #

Layers #

Ask a staff member to provide you with a Layers map template.

A box is not required.

Players vs. Bosses #

The build must be an arena fit for boss fights.

  • The minimum size is 120×60 blocks.

Set the parent map to Players vs. Bosses.

  • /set parent-map Players vs. Bosses

A box is not required.

Sumo #

Create five different PvP arenas with different PvP kits.

The arenas should be designed to make fights engaging and interesting.

Since the arenas are meant for 1v1s, they should not be too large.

Create a 20×6 box to be displayed for voting. You can build the box in a miscellaneous map file or include it in the top left corner of your submission.

You only need to handle building the arenas and designing the PvP kits.

  • The wiring and special regions can be handled by Moderators.
