After hours of building, tweaking, and final final final (final) touches, you have made a map. Good job!
Now what?
Submission Process #

To start submitting maps, go to your map file and type /submit. Feel free to add some text with the command to explain what the map is about and other important information.
When you submit a map, a submission channel will be created on the Penguin Games Discord server for you and all other collaborators. This channel is used as a point of discussion for map reviewers to bring up suggestions and potential changes needed to approve the map for the server.
If map reviewers or playtesters ask you to rework, change, tweak, or whatever something with your map, please try and do so as soon as possible. If you disagree with a point of criticism, work together with the map reviewer or playtester to create a new solution!
Likewise, if map reviewers are taking a bit too long to review or approve your map, please run b!mention-reviewers in the submission channel to mention the reviewer role. There is an automatic mention towards map reviewers if there is no activity for a week.
How Maps Get Tested #
A majority of map submissions are tested in the games themselves! Feel free to coordinate testing times with map reviewers so you can get a good feel for your own map as well as see what the public think of your map. If you are unavailable to coordinate a time, map reviewers will simply relay information & feedback from participants in the testing sessions, just so you can get a feel for how to improve your map!
One game is the exception: Parkour. Due to the required skill level, the Parkour map reviewers consist of a dedicated testing team to assist in map reviewal, so as to bring a larger audience and large range of feedback to you. Parkour maps are tested directly in-game once playtesters have been requested to test them. Even you can test your own map, with the command />> <map name>, so as to make sure all your regions are set up correctly for a proper review.
My Map Got Approved! What’s Next? #
First off, congratulations! You have made a mark in Penguin Games’ history. Regardless of how big or small the contribution, players will see, play, and enjoy your map constantly. And for that, you will be awarded Penguin Points for your contribution (See Author Awards)!
If you are feeling confident and ready to tackle a new map idea, why not collaborate with someone? Working together not only encourages teamwork but also improves your own skills by seeing how others tackle a project.
Nonetheless, keep building, tweaking, and submitting new map ideas!
